Practice the art of decorating and dyeing kimono accessories at the studio of local Kaga-yuzen designer Toshiaki Hirano.

1) Obi sash creation
Draw a design directly on a silk sash, create a sealed stencil using a special glue, dye the background fabric while leaving the stenciled areas white, and finally color the details.

2) Obi dyeing
Dye a tailor-made kimono belt with a Nagoya pattern, traditionally used for casual kimonos of day-to-day life, in this more detailed and multistep dyeing program.

3) Tour the Kaga-yuzen factory
Learn about the dyeing processes in English while touring a working Kaga-yuzen factory.
